Challenge (Kinda) Accepted

Journal entry by megan steele — Sep 8, 2019

I have big plans this week. I’m going from sooo much waiting for appts and answers, etc. to things moving at the speed of light. I either have time to overthink all the things, or no time to wrap my mind around what’s about to happen. But I’m bracing myself, preparing myself, educating myself, and taking anxiety meds. 😆 THIS WEEK’S TO DO LIST:

  1. Get a drastic pixie style (or shorter) haircut so I can soften the blow of what’s to come and have some illusion of control over the situation

  2. Drag my makeup artist daughter to Ulta to ensure my eyebrow game is strong before they are completely gone, and learn how to wear lipstick

  3. Have another surgical procedure to have a port put in (What’s one more scar?)

  4. Meet with HR to go over all of the medical leave hullaballoo

  5. Take a what-to-expect in chemo education class before getting started

  6. Find cute enough outfits that still leave access to above mentioned port (Can you tell I’m trying to hold on to as much femininity during this fight as possible?)

  7. Pray over every cell in my being

  8. Sit in this: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bethel+loft+sessions+afresh&view=detail&mid=E09EA2151651CBF17544E09EA2151651CBF17544&FORM=VIRE

I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to BC, and a specific BC amazon wishlist to help me remember what I need to get later on down the road based on my research (lots of youtube and blog reading). Probably wouldn’t have thought of a seat belt cushion, otherwise.

Also, exercise, eating lots of fruits and veggies, journaling, praying, crying, laughing, pouring over Truth and hiding it in my heart… I’m nothing if not prepared. At least as much as I can be. So thankful He is closer than the air I breathe or I would suffocate.
